Harry Styles and I Share A Closet

Harry Styles and I Share A Closet

Okay, the title of this post may be a SLIGHT exaggeration. Harry Style’s closet is much more expensive, full of Gucci, and probably slightly bigger. However, after reading his Rolling Stone interview in August I did realize one thing, my sense of style is not too far off from the pop sensation’s. (You could of course disagree with that completely…but give me a chance here, I have to dream…)

If you don’t know who Harry Styles is you may or may not have been in a coma for the last 7 years, and you should seek medical attention immediately. He began as an X Factor contender in the 2010 season for Britain. Simon Cowell put him and four others into a little band called One Direction (sometimes mentioned as the modern day Beatles). The band went on an indefinite hiatus much to the dismay of girls everywhere (including me, shhh) in 2016 and that is when Harry Style’s solo career really began to launch. His music was redefined from pop to something much more indie pop, or alternative and he began turning heads as a fashion icon pushing the boundaries of gender fluidity. In short, he has had amazing character development, and to be a geek I have (as well as the rest of the world) been watching him with huge heart eyes for years and years. Read The Rolling Stones interview The Eternal Sunshine of Harry Styles here.

After reading the informative, other worldly interview that touches quite a bit on shrooms among other things, the idea for this video popped into my head. Watch the video to hear the full explanation behind each look, or just scroll down and see my side by side comparisons with the three looks.Check the video out here.

The best part of these looks is that mine were created solely out of pieces I had in my closet already (aka nothing was bought to match his looks) and my sister and I shot all the photos in half an hour, outside in the same location (aka we didn’t drive around to find the perfect locations.)

This one was definitely the biggest challenge to take a picture for because we did not have an abandoned partially constructed building and a wide angle camera to capture it. However, we did our best with a stack of stones. It definitely peeves me that I am not facing the right way, but considering the means we worked within, I am okay with this one. Shout out to Harry’s beautiful bedazzled loafers, I would definitely not mind borrowing those beauties.

Our water source being a small pond was darker compared to the stormy grey water behind Harry. No offense to him, but that scarf is low key hideous so I opted for this cheetah print one.

All the Rolling Stone photos were shot by Ryan McGinley for Rolling Stone and I in no way am claiming them as my own, just using them for some fun in this post.

This video was filmed haphazardly with no real thought or planning, but overall I am happy at how playful it turned out. The photos were taken quickly with almost no editing and we had a good laugh shooting them and trying to get the correct poses.

What do you think of my outfits? Did I capture the “eternal sunshine of Harry Styles” or just look like a crazy person? Let me know in the comments.
